I know having termites would be worst...but the wasps are eating up the wood on my wind chimes. Daily they come to strip off more wood. Wonder if I could put out that old table I want stripped and see if they would eat the finish off of it then I would not have to do it myself.
OH WELL... this made for a good photo shoot.

It is a marvelous set of photos. I think they should go eat off of a tree of their choice rather than your wind chime.
Ewwwwww....Great shots though...lol xo Diana
fantastic macro shots.. the only good wasp is a dead wasp, when i see one i scream BOB come kill this wasp.. i picked up a laundry basket he has hanging on a nail in the garage and a wasp flew in my face and inside the basket was a NEST. i am surprised you did not hear me scream and you will never see a macro of a wasp from me. they are in my top 3 fears...i did not know they eat wood.. that is wild and weird... i do know they will drop down the back of a dress on a 15 year old girl standing on the back porch of the church, causing said girl to undress in a sunday school room while her mother beat the wasp off...
These are wonderful macros, Tammy!
Our resident wasps do the very same thing with the wind chimes. they have also been known to eat some
of the fabric on my patio furniture!
You have a good day, my friend.
Tammy, it's so awesome to see you back blogging with these amazing macros! The detail and colors are incredibly beautiful. This is the same wasp that landed on my living room lamp one evening in January. I did not know it ate wood!
Great shots, Tammy, but like Sandra said you will never see me photographing these insects, anything else but never these, which I would sooner kill. Of course, they always seem to know and head my in my direction. While I did not know they ate wood, they seem to like nesting behind house shutters at our place. Glad to see you and your camera working together again!
They are enjoying your wood for sure Tammy!! Glad to see you're back - have missed you!!
I have never seen this...and I hope I don't! (o;
