We got some much needed rain and some cool Fall like weather but the 80's will return in a few days but boy, I am liking this weather.
MY.... what big eyes you have .......
Carpenter Bee, big, fast wood chewer but makes a great model for my close up shooting.
Can you believe I did not have my macro lens. This is with the Sony HX100v camera,
they call it a bridge or super zoom. The tricky part is you need a lot of light. It was
cloudy yesterday so I got the ring light out and or I used the flash.
My prayers are for many, with the fires in TX to the tornadoes that were just north of me that left a lot of damage and everybody in between. So many folks need prayer.
I am on it!

You can make a bee look all warm and fuzzy!! We, too, are having very cool weather. Today the wind is from the northeast and will bring us rain. This pattern is very unusual since our winds and rains usually come from the southwest or northwest. I'm inspired to haul out some fall color.
Best,
Bonnie
These are excellent, and super creepy!!! These bees do make a great subject, because they are gentle and won't sting. But you need to tell the difference between them and the bumbles!!
We are all grateful for your prayers!! You got fantastic pictures of that bee. WOW! Was he on a lantana bloom? Thankful you got away from the yellow jacket! They are DANGERous!!
Beautiful! I just love your photos! We appreciate your prayers! There is a tropical storm in the gulf that might make it up to Texas...
Wow, those are the most amazing pictures!!! The colors and clarity are gorgeous!!!
Carpenter bees are wonderful subjects to photograph. They don't get upset with humans being near them. They were probably a little cold. Great shots!
I think bumble bees are beautiful. I had just one last week gathering nectar on my deck .. I enjoyed watching him flit around. I was sad to find him a day ago drowned in my watering can.
keep taking those fabulous pictures!
Blessings and hugs~
Mama and I always enjoyed our morning coffee walking in the flower garden and I would scratch the fur coat of the sleepy-headed bees! Your photos are super!
We drove by much of the tornado damage today on our way to the dentist. My heart and prayers go out for the many who are suffering.
HI Tammy...That Bee is dead you just put him there for a prop...lol~~lol.... ; }
Nice shot seriously...you could count the hairs on it's leg's!!
I am allergic to bee bites so I'm pretty careful...last time I go bit I spend 4 hours in the Cardiac unit at the hospital!!
Stay safe...prayers for all

Lovely, lovely bumblebee!!
He DOES look like he's wearing a yellow furry vest!!
I'm going to grow Lantana again next summer!! You have the greatest visitors!!
Love your macro lense! I'm jealous!
Bees are great photo subjects as long as they don't get ornery. You really got some great shots here with your point 'n shoot. Yes, our thoughts also are with the folks in Texas affected by the wildfires and all those affected by floodwaters and continual rains.
BEE-utuiful!! Your shots are amazing!
So true that so many are suffering and need our prayers . . . and our prayers do matter!
