The snow is here, It first started sleeting for a few hours around 5PM.
Then at 7PM it changed to complete snow.
This one was taken out the kitchen bay-window tonight pointed in the direction of our screen porch. Look at the roof, we have 4". I turned on the flood lights to get a better photo.
The neighbors always love it when I turn them on. It floods theirs and our yard. We are on 2/3 of an acre, so that is kinda' telling you we have some bright flood lights.
Out the front door, you cant see the street, its covered. And hubby thinks he can get down our steep driveway to take the trash out? I DON'T THINK SO... I doubt the trucks will be running.
Out the front door. Side yard. This is the Maple tree in the front and behind it is the huge Magnolia.
Back yard with the flood lights turned off. This was exactly the color out there at 11PM. Amazing how quiet it becomes when it snows. This photo was taken out the master bedroom upstairs. Part of the view is obscured by the porch roof.
Cant wait till morning to see what the final amount is.

Girl! I can't believe this! It's so pretty and so MUCH! Don't go freezing on us. Stay inside, safe and toasty.
I wish you could have seen those decorations up close. Those photos really don't do them justice, but Jo Ann can make anything. She said that she wants to come back next year and just do the house with her sister and me. I would LOVE it. She had fun doing it. I think we could have used a thicker garland on the balcony, but they were budgeted only so much. The thing I don't like about the real greenery is that some of it dies quickly, and you are constantly replacing the dead. I think the way to go is to have good faux greenery and add some live to punch it up some. Anymore, you can't tell the faux from the live if it's really good. I have one wreath that everyone thinks is real, and it is faux... a mixture of faux cedar, pine, and other greens.
They did cheat and use a fake tree in the living room (I'm allergic to real pines, and they are the cheapest for the club's cost). Since this is our second home and not our residence, I didn't have a tree and hadn't planned on getting one, so they used one that Jo Ann has. I wasn't crazy about the way they decorated the tree and would have done it very differently. I just feel like a fake tree needs to be COVERED in ornaments, but I didn't feel like I could say anything to them. So after they left, I tucked some live berries and pine cones into the tree to make it look FULLER. It was pretty stressful letting people have a free rein, but they had more fun that way. Me? Not so much! LOL! Just kidding. They were super nice and tried so hard to please us.
XO,
Sheila :-)
With all the snow, freezing rain and cold it's difficult to appreciate it's caused by global warming!
Beautiful! I love the quiet clean of new fallen snow. Your photos are great. I especially like the one out the side (?) door where you can see the snowflakes actually come down.
I hope that you can enjoy it in warmth and comfort!!!!
If you do decide to go out and sled down the driveway, please have your husband snap a few photos!! = )
Best,
Bonnie
SSH,
The snow is still falling this morning, more so than last night. NO school closings in our town, just yet! "MR. Ed" out working trying to keep the major highways and interstates open for travel. Our roads to the house and the State highway are snow packed; however ther's a paper in the driveway. Ours slopes. . .so I'm NOT even going to try that without books! HA!
Thank you for visiting On Crooked Creek last night. For Heaven's sake, be careful taking your photos! Stop by again soon, dear. I'll try to do the same.
Fondly,
Pat
Wow!! Look at all the snow! That's amazing and so beautiful! Hope your power stays on and you can stay warm!
Thanks for showing me your snow. This is as close as I'm going to get to snow this year! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
That is a very beautiful snow, Tammy! Ours started this morning about 4:00 am... it's stopped for the moment but we're supposed to get more tonight.
I also love how quiet everything is after a snow!
Ooooh... I'm the teenciest bit jealous. &hearts/ I adore snow, but we don't get much here in the Seattle area. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though - we might catch a few flakes this week.
It looks so pretty! I hope you enjoy it. Snow is so beautiful!
